What Makes It Natural

Many people will use all natural mosquito repellents because they feel they are safer. Some use them because they say they are natural – but they do not fully understand what this means or what ingredients make this possible. It is important to know what materials are used to make it safe and natural because some may claim to be – but will still add bits of chemicals.

Lemon Eucalyptus

Lemon eucalyptus oil is a very popular ingredient that is used in many of the more popular types of natural repellents. It is safe not only for adults – but also for children and is able to stay on for many hours. This makes it an ideal repellent to use when you are out camping or fishing.

Soybean and Geranium Oil

There are also many products that use soybean and geranium oil. While these do not last as long as the eucalyptus oil they are still just as effective in protecting the person’s skin from potential bites. You can usually find this in the form of lotion or sprays that can be purchased at your nearest grocery store.

This is also a very popular mosquito repellent that many of us have already heard about. The citronella is extracted from a special plant. This oil is then used to make specific types of natural sprays, lotions, and also candles. The candles are helpful because they can be used when people want to eat outside – but do not want to spray themselves down in order to keep the bugs away and to enjoy their meal.

Neem Oil

Neem oil is a type of vegetable oil that has been extracted from seeds and fruits of the evergreen Neem tree. This tree can be found in the Indian subcontinent and areas of the tropics. This is not the most common ingredient – but it is used in many natural repellents for people and for farmers.
